Emilien Ercolani, Chief Operating Officer of the consulting firm Maestria Blockchain, is accompanying Versity as blockchain advisor. He practiced for more than 10 years as a journalist in professional IT (IT B2B) and dealing with topics related to new technologies before getting into blockchain technology in 2014. Since then, he has accompanied many entrepreneurs and companies in the deployment of their project.

Your definition of blockchain?

Blockchain is a system of storage and exchange of value. It is therefore a distributed database, which contains all the exchanges made by users. It has its own properties such as security and immutability of data, meaning that they cannot be modified. It is also transparency and decentralization and above all the keystone of web3 in the broadest sense.

And more specifically Polygon?

For me, Polygon is a network that is here to stay, even Vitalik (Ethereum's co-founder, ed. ) said so. L2s are vital to the ETH ecosystem, they have value, real technically viable utility and outstanding features, both in terms of security and speed.

The big metaverse like Decentraland, Sandbox, NextEarthy are also coming to it, and also Disney or Meta/FB.

How do you support companies launching ICOs?

Our job is  supporting them at the beginning, ideation, product conceptualization by trying to solve business problems.
This is what we did with Les Agence de Papa and which gave life to the Versity project.

We have a specialty on the technological framing of project but also and above all on the tokenomic creation, which we realized in part for Versity as well

Beyond that, we bring our knowledge of the market and the ecosystem, but also our network. We're on long term project support: we're here to stay until the projects are completed.

What attracted you to the web3 field?

A lot of things! First the blockchain as a technology, as such.
But also the promises: somewhere, a more egalitarian society with a fairer distribution at all levels.

Without being idealistic or utopian, web3 is an opportunity for the Internet at large to return to its original form. Users, at the center of the network, must notably regain control over value, the exchange of value but also over their personal data in particular.

Can you explain how Polygon blockchain is more secure than others?

Before we even talk about the technical side, Polygon is a sound project from a financial and tokenomic point of view, with balanced allocations and above all a supply almost entirely in circulation.

Beyond that, Polygon has introduced "security as a Service", meaning that everything is customizable, and coupled with that of the Ethereum network.

How do you project the role of blockchain in the world in 5 years?

I think that beyond blockchain, it is mostly the token economy, or the economy of tokens, which will evolve many things.
After that, blockchain plays a pivotal role in many applications whether it is NFTs, metavers or DAOs.
It is difficult to predict what will happen, but I think we are already seeing an awareness of the contributions of blockchain in the broadest sense, and that it could have repercussions on our lives, and in particular on the exchange of values and even on money itself: we are already seeing this with the emergence and the work done by central banks on MNBCs (central bank digital currencies).

Why did you join the Versity adventure?

Because we are at the origin of it! No kidding, we started working with Les Agences de Papa at the end of 2021, we worked a lot with them on their business issues and on the challenges of tomorrow for the sector and the real estate industry. That's how the Versity project was born. We worked on the basic concept, then on the tokenomics. It was only natural that we continue the adventure alongside all the other actors of this beautiful project.
